Seeing Spots: Nail Art Look You Can Do in Seconds

nail art: spotsIt’s not just the hair, makeup and nail looks that strut their way down the runway at New York Fashion Week that have us running home to copy them. When we spotted Butter London global color ambassador Katie Jane Hughes backstage at the Lela Rose show, we were immediately obsessed with her super minimalist nail art. I’ve mentioned that simple, elegant nail art is an emerging trend, and this is a seriously perfect example of it. My sister Sam (BEOC’s newest trend guinea pig) was equally as into this look and tried it last night. She simply applied a clear base coat, created a black dot at the lower center of her nail using China Glaze in Liquid Leather, $7.50 and a toothpick (use a dotting tool like the Butter London one pictured for more perfect dots), and finished the look with top coat (Sally Hansen Advanced Hard As Nails Strengthening Top Coat, $3.19). That’s it. Chic, yet a little fun and unexpected.
