Copy Cameron Diaz's "Feline Eye" Seen at the UK What to Expect When You're Expecting Premiere

I’m a Cameron Diaz fan for one reason: though she does have a perfectly fit, rockin’ body, she doesn’t always look totally perfect and flawless. Especially her skin. She clearly hasn’t been spending as much time at the spa or plastic surgeon/dermatologist’s office as some of her colleagues. It’s refreshing. That’s why, when I saw this photo of her from the UK premiere of What to Expect When You’re Expecting, I was wowed. Her skin, makeup and overall look is flawless and stunning.

Naturally I had to share the scoop on how makeup artist Emma Lovell created her makeup look so we can all copy it. Here’s the deal:

“The makeup was designed to complement Cameron’s cream Stella McCartney jumpsuit, her choppy blonde bob and her dramatic earrings. I wanted a cute feline eye to be the main attraction, keeping the lips pretty and fresh with a plum stain,” says Lovell.

How to get it:

Step 1: Prime your skin (Lovell used Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, $65).

Step 2: Create a matte complexion by applying a liquid powder foundation (she used Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation in Sand, $55).

Step 3: Brighten up your eye area by dabbing a bit of eye brightening concealer under your eyes (she used Bobbi Brown Tinted Eye Brightener, $38).

Step 4: Contour your face by applying bronzing cream under your cheekbones and blush on the apples of your cheeks using your fingertips (she used Hourglass Illume Crème-To-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset, $40). Add a dab of illuminating cream on your cheeks to finish.

Step 5: Fill in your brows with pencil (she used MAC Eye Brows Pencil in Fling, $15)

Step 6: Apply a shimmery, shell-colored eyeshadow on your lids and a deep copper shade in your creases and along your lashlines (Lovell used Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Gypsy, $38).

Step 7: Line top lashlines with liquid liner (she used Hourglass Calligraphy Liquid Eye Liner in Ebony, $32). “I started with a very a thin line at the inner corner of the eye and made it thicker as I went along, kicking it out for a subtle kitten eye,” says Lovell. Next, go over the line with the deep copper shadow to soften it a bit “it’s not so retro that way,” adds Lovell.

Step 8: Apply black mascara and a set of full faux lashes. Get scoop on how to apply false lashes here.

Step 9: Finish by applying a plum, berry lipstick with your fingertip for a stain-like finish. Lovell used Hourglass Femme Rouge Velvet Crème Lipstick in Nocturnal, $30 and topped it with a bit of balm for a touch of shine (she used Rodial Glam Balm Lip, $25).
