How to Get Jessica Chastain's Romantic Half-Up Oscar Hairstyle

I had major hair envy the minute I spotted Best Supporting Actress nominee Jessica Chastain on the Oscar red carpet tonight. Not only is her hair a fabulous shade of red, but it is also super shiny, thick and healthy looking. And, the romantic hairstyle that Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist, created really showed off how truly gorgeous her hair is. Though most of us might not be blessed with hair that’s equally as dreamy, we can still create this style. Here’s the breakdown on how Cho did the look:

Step 1: Spray root lifting hairspray (Cho used Suave Professionals Volumizing Root Boost Spray) at the roots of your hair then layer on a dollop of leave-in conditioner (she used Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Leave-in Conditioner) to smooth hair and protect it from heat damage.

Step 2: Blow dry strands with a round brush for added volume.

Step 3: Starting from the nape of your neck, separate hair into five or six sections. Spray each portion with a flexible-hold hairspray (she used Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray) and curl with a large two-inch curling iron. When curling strands near the face, curl the sections away from your face.

Step 4: Next, tease the crown of your hair for height and spray with the same hairspray you used in Step 2 for lasting hold. Smooth over the very top layer of your hair with a brush for a polished finish.

Step 5: Bring each side of your hair (from the top of your ears up) back one at a time to create a half-up french twist at the back of your head. Secure with bobby pins.

Step 6: Loosen up the hanging curls by fingercombing through them with a drop of shine serum (Cho used Suave Professionals Keratin Infusion Smooth & Shine Serum). Complete the look by misting it with hairspray for hold.

Now tell me — which celebrity do you think looked the most fabulous on the red carpet?
