Not sure what to do with that left over bag of cranberries? Whip up a lip smoothing gloss. Even better, give your DIY beauty concoction as a holiday gift. Here’s a fabulous recipe for cranberry lip gloss from Janice Cox’s Natural Beauty for All Seasons:
What you need:
1 tablespoon almond oil
10 fresh cranberries
1 teaspoon honey
How to whip it up:
Mix the three ingredients together in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in the microwave for one to two minutes (the mixture should be boiling). Stir the mixture well and smash the cranberries. Let it set for five minutes then strain the mixture using a fine sieve — you want to remove all of the cranberry bits. Stir the mixture one more time and let it fully cool. Once it’s cool, spoon it into a small, clear container. Apply to lips to hydrate them and add a very subtle tint of color. If you want a shinier finish, mix a teaspoon of Vaseline to the finished gloss mixture.
