When you were a kid, did you have an obsession with seeking out your name amongst a display of say mini license plates, pens, pencils or goofy plastic change purses? I sure did. Every time I stepped foot in a toy store, trinket shop, you name it, I had to see if they had my name — and that they spelled it correctly (meaning the way I spell it). Being a Kristen, this is a very important matter. I would often find KristIN items, but no KristEN items. It was heartbreaking for me, but I’m sure it thrilled my parents who didn’t have to then buy the silly chotchkes.
I mention this because, to my delight, Zoya named one of the nail polishes in their new Zoya Feel Nail Polish Collection — say it with me … Kristen. It’s a full coverage, creamy, true gray shade that is the perfect antidote to the typical dark and crimson nail polish hues we tend to wear at this time of the year. It reminds me of a winter’s day or a cozy cashmere sweater. What do you think?
And, just because I’m a Kristen doesn’t mean that I won’t tell you about the other five shades in the collection. They are all “new neutrals” that range from blonde beige (Avery), rose quartz beige (Kendal — this came close to being my step sister’s name, but it needs another L) and taupey gray (Megan) to, of course, gray, gray — all of Zoya’s polishes are $8 each. I think I’ll wear every single one of them, but I’ll definitely sport my namesake shade quite often.
Now tell me, do you get as giddy as I do when you see something with your name on it? Please confess.
