Thanks to my friend April, I got wind that Petra Strand (photographed above), creator of Pixi Beauty, was launching a blog: petrapersonally.blogspot.com. She plans to wax poetic not only about beauty, but her life as a mom, fashion, colour (her spelling, not mine) and such. It’s quite cute.
Anyway, I had to ask her what beauty problems (I’m all about problems and solutions, if you haven’t noticed) she’s faced and which products she formulated for her brand to specifically solve them. I personally think that’s got to be the most thrilling part about formulating and owning your own brand — you can create anything you dream up.
Here’s what she had to say: “My lashes are super straight and it’s very hard to keep them curled. Most mascara formulas are too wet and take too long to dry, so my lashes lose the curl from a lash curler once I apply mascara,” says Strand.
Her solution: “I’ve found that I need to always use waterproof mascaras — they really help to keep and lift the curl,” she says.
The product she created as a result: “Lash Booster [Mascara, $17]. [It] is the perfect ultra-waterproof mascara that holds a curl and never smudges, even with oily eyelids like mine,” says Strand.
I have oily lids too and can’t stand it when mascara transfers onto my upper lids, though I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of waterproof mascara due to the fact that you must use eye makeup remover to get it off — I may have to reconsider though.
So tell me, by commenting below, of course, what beauty problems do you have? And, which products (if any) have you found that solve them?
