The Product: L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream, $26
Why: New reader Sara, who I met this weekend — she writes the thoughtful family-focused blog Periwinkle Papillon — shared her pick for beauty problem solver of the week. And, it just so happens that this is one of my all-time favorite products, too. It’s a hand cream I go back to again and again — and though it’s not cheap, it’s truly one of a kind. Rich, but not too, too greasy and it has an amazing natural shea buttery smell that when applied at night can become somewhat addictive. I kinda swear it helps me get a better night’s sleep.
Sara and I are obviously not alone in our love for L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream because it is also the company’s No. 1 best seller. Here’s what Sara has to say about it: “On my way to BlogHer [this was the blogger convention that brought Sara and I together -- I found out after meeting her that she's great friends with my sister-in-law -- small world, indeed] I needed a hand cream but didn’t want anything with a strong odor as I was going to be shaking lots of hands (yours included!). So I stopped in the L’Occitane store as I was running to the gate at the airport and bought the blue label ‘Creme Mains with 20% shea butter’ — I never understood the brand before as I thought it was mostly gift basket items, but have to say this is one product that totally works and now I love!!!”
