KA-POW! Bright Pink Lips

This bright pink, matte lipstick Ginnifer Goodwin’s rockin’ is just about the coolest shade I’ve seen on the red carpet lately (and a slightly bolder version of the look Elizabeth Banks sported last month). The perfect, almost neon pink makes a major statement, especially in relation to her lady-like white lace dress. Pretty, pretty! I love how she kept the rest of her makeup and hair clean and simple. I mean, let the lips speak for themselves, right? To make ultra-bold lips fade- and feather-proof, follow these steps:

Step 1. Dab a tiny bit of your regular concealer over your lips and around the edges. This fills in any fine-lines so the color doesn’t bleed and creates a nice base for your lipstick to hang on to. I love Sonia Kashuk Hidden Agenda Concealer Palette, $10.

Step 2. Line your lips with a pencil in the same (or similar) bold shade to give your lips a sharp outline. Try MAC Lip Pencil in Embrace Me, $14.

Step 3. Finally, fill in with the crazy pink of your choice, like Nars Pure Matte Lipstick in Carthage, $25.

I’m wearing this color tomorrow. Would you wear your lips this bright?

How to Get Julianne Moore’s Stunning Bold Lip Look

When New York City-based makeup artist Fabiola Arancibia posted a photo on Facebook of Julianne Moore at a fall fashion week kickoff event, I immediately had to message her to get the scoop on how she created the gorgeous makeup look. Here’s how she did it:

First, she admitted that she was “fortunate to have worked with such a gorgeous face” before spilling the details on the look …

Step 1: She prepped Moore’s skin with Kiehl’s Acai Damage-Protecting Toning Mist, $26 and the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate, $44, which she says gives extra hydration and looks amazing under foundation — especially if your skin is a little dry.

Step 2: She applied Cle de Peau Cream Foundation, $120 in the T-zone area and on Moore’s cheeks. She blended it using a moist Beauty Blender, $19.95, for light coverage.

Step 3: To conceal Moore’s undereye area she used two shades of Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat, $40.

Step 4: Using a matte peachy contour cream, she enhanced Moore’s cheekbones.

Step 5: The eyes were enhanced with black liquid liner on top lids, a touch of pencil liner on the bottom and black mascara.

Step 6: Arancibia finished the look by applying a bordeaux lip color (she used Nars Semi Matte Lipstick in Scarlet Empress, $24), which perfectly complemented her striking navy Roberto Cavalli dress.

What do you think of this look? Would you try it?
