As promised, here’s the scoop on how to recreate Jessica Alba’s stunning makeup look from The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards. I really do think a bold lip is the way to go when it comes to special occasion makeup. A pop of color just makes everyone look like they’re having more fun.
Step 1: Makeup artist Lauren Andersen prepped Alba’s skin with primer (she used Hourglass No. 28 Primer Serum, $65) and followed that with tinted moisturizer (Hourglass Illusion Tinted Moisturizer Oil Free SPF 15, $55), concealer (Hourglass Hidden Corrective Concealer $32) and a subtly shimmery powder (Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder) to create dimension and a natural glow to Alba’s skin.
Step 2: Andersen contoured Alba’s cheeks with cream bronzer and added warmth to the apples of the cheeks with a rose cream blush. She used Hourglass Illume Crème-to-Powder Bronzer Duo in Sunset, $40.
Step 3: To define Alba’s eyes, Andersen smudged brown eye pencil (Hourglass Film Noir Kohl Eye Pencil in Espresso, $28) around the outer corners of her eyes. Next, she applied powder bronzer (Hourglass Superficial Waterproof Bronzer, $45) in the creases of Alba’s eyes and swiped gold shadow (Hourglass Visionaire Eye Shadow Duo in Dune, $38) on her lids.
Step 4: Andersen finished the eyes with multiple coats of black mascara (Hourglass Film Noir Full Spectrum Mascara, $28) and brow pencil (Hourglass Arch Sculpting Brow Pencil in Soft Brunette, $32), which she used to amp up Alba’s arches.
Step 5: This look wouldn’t be complete without the tangerine lipstick. Anderson used Hourglass Opaque Rouge Liquid Lipstick in Riviera, $28.
